This is what is frustrating about your posts on this af..... I am not 'dumping' on Ekeler. I am not minimizing Ekelers contributions. I am not minimizing Ekelers position. I have acknowledged Ekeler has definitely out performed expectations of his current contract. (expectations from either club or player) I have agreed Ekeler should get more money on the next contract. (I even proposed a 3 year 10mil/yr contract....that would be a 4 million a year raise.) I do not like any player using the media in the fashion Ekeler is doing, and it is completely one sided and self serving. Has Ekeler said TT won't talk contract? nope. Has Ekeler said TT is only willing to pay him 7-8 million.....or any number? nope. Has Ekeler said TT is only offering a two year deal? nope. None of these aspects are being mentioned, and I suspect it is because this information might very well take some air out of the 'poor me' balloon. I get what your saying but the fact this information was leaked to the media (no matter by whom) is just something about the day and age we live in of social media and immediate news. I think Ekeler has been nothing but professional and nothing about this screams "poor me", like I said and apparently like you say, he earned a raise. This has nothing to do with today's social media, and everything to do with creating public sympathy resulting in pressure on the Chargers. TT has played this game before, and is actually really good at it. It is my opinion that using the media in this fashion is unprofessional, and in fact very disrespectful to the normally accepted process.

I get what your saying but the fact this information was leaked to the media (no matter by whom) is just something about the day and age we live in of social media and immediate news. I will acknowledge that Ekeler is doing nothing but trying to diffuse any negative opinions toward the club. Did you not read the NFL.com article? So you're more annoyed it got leaked to the media than the actual contract situation? Unless Ekeler comes out and says he went to the media I'm not going speculate one way or the other as I honestly don't care.

Pretty sure it’s Ek that’s reacting to his value destruction right now. Pretty sure his 6.25 million scheduled for this year tells me who is really destructed. No ? HE does not worry about making the rent brother. I think we agree. |

Eisen did eventually ask an interesting question, ("and why is no other team interested in him" (presumably Ekeler)), but no discussion beyond the question.
My thought on Eisen's question. Clubs are interested, until they hear the ask from Ekeler, and look at the cost to the Chargers. Apparently an easy pass.
