The part that is not being acknowledged is the contract is 'worth up to 18 mil/yr'...... The base pay 'might' be only 10 mil, with the rest in 'potential' earnings.... Good to be a WR, bad to be a RB.....lol

Interesting that the Chargers have hired two new asst coaches at this time. Secondary asst Will Harris and offensive run game asst Phil Serchia. They were rising stars in their fields at a downstream school. No doubt they have some insights on day 3 - UDFA draft eligible players. That and the Chargers have done a lot of interviews / meetings / workouts with late rd / UDFA prospects. Getting Salyer in the 6th may have gotten Staley excited about mining the draft's tailings.

Good for him..... Not too sure what the big deal it is to those following the Chargers? Because nothing in the NFL happens in a vacuum. Other player's contracts will always play a role in our player negotiations.
