Who is to say that he won't beat our Slater for left tackle in a year or two? Alt might be better now.....but Slater is no slouch, so why? Take a WR......or a CB....or Bowers.... Hortiz takes the best player available. Joe Alt is a consensus pick for the #1 tackle selected at a fair value spot. Harbaugh & Roman both believe the team starts with a strong o-line. Many quotes in the media about this. They have been broadcasting this pick for awhile. I did not predict Alt and was surprised, but it is kind of obvious in hindsight.

Long way to go.
I'm hopeful too.
I don't really care in the end how glamourous the draft was. I care about how it turns L to W and empty trophy case to a full one.

Raiders have Bowers to go with Devante and Zamir
We have an RT, journeymen RBs and WR 3 and 4. Remember this next season when we put up 10 points per game and Herbert is dumping 5 yard passes off to Dissly because he doesn't have a WR who can get open

Harbaugh builds from the trenches out and he builds winners. The Road to a championship will be graded with a giant dominant o-line creating huge holes for whomever we run through them. Its easy to defend this pick but it doesn't make the other side of the coin less relevant. Its a deep draft at WR (supposedly)... But as of now, Herbert has no weapons. Deep maybe but now the first and second level WRs are gone. If Nabers turns into the next Tyreek we'll never forgive these guys. |

I think Hortiz and Harbaugh stuck to their plan from the beginning. I think this pick didn't change the fact KA is not on the team. I think this pick assumed KA would still be on the team when it was made months ago.

Why not flip the positions ? CB T. Arnold Alabama at 11 and Fautanu OT Washington at 23 . I doubt Fautanu or any of the top OT prospects would make it to 23 Wow did OT's fly off the draft last night. We got the best one . So that's a positive.

Alt clearly was picked to be the tackle, so what to do with Pipkins? Zion and Jamaree didn't play well last year, though much was blamed on losing Lindsey. Will Pipkins take over one of their Guard spots? Or can Pip play Center?? (sarcasm... maybe)
