OC Greg Roman says the current plan is for him to call plays from the booth. G-Ro says he can see the field better. he trusts his assistants to talk to his players. He likes his staff. Some OC's just like the booth better. It's what each one is comfortable doing.

I said Stick ain't it and we needed help. Give the UFL star a shot. He could make QB2. You never know................... Herbert is IT, Stick #2. Luis was a good hire for two reasons lots of experience and lots of experience - at lower levels. He could easily replace Bauman or Dugan. Stick is unlikely. He is way into this offense install.
One thing that looks bad, he's playing Herbert to get the O ready for Herbert's return. And he is not Herbert.
If he's actually in a game that counts, the play calling will favor Stick's skill set per Roman.
Translated: We have to vanilla dumb it down for him.

Translated: We have to vanilla dumb it down for him. I don't see it that way at all. I think it is more likely that all run plays stay exactly the same, and it is the passing plays that will change to fit Stick's skills. In other words, the OC won't be asking Stick to make throws that few QB's in the NFL can make. Fortunately, Herbert is one of those few.....which really means you guys better hope Stick is not the starter.

Jim Plunkett beat us in the 1980 AFCC when he was limping and won a SB. Don't tell me Herbert can't play with a sore foot. If it still is. He's tougher than that. Actually I believe we can win games with Defense, Special teams and a Rushing Offense with Stick at QB. But Herbert is better and deserves a great year. Now.

The winning format that you describe is possible, but it takes serious talent to overcome marginal play from the QB, talent that I would question is currently found on this roster. The Harbaugh Hope is being counted on in far too many places. Horitz and Harbaugh know it, which is why they are building the foundation this year, hence the Alt pick. 2025 is when they will have money to buy talent......that is when expectations should exist.

"Harbaugh Hope" isn't some magical formula, it's great coaching by an extensive great staff. Regards the players, where are we lacking? The defense and special teams are way better than average and the OL, RBs and WR ain't too shabby. Herbert will start but if he's out Stick can handle G-Ro's run first offense just fine.

Well they are not lacking anywhere, which is why they are the overwhelming favorites to win the Super Bowl...... Good lord you can't be this delusional. I get supporting your club of choice, but be honest about it. No club goes a season without injuries, so you know they are coming.... Losing Bosa should be no surprise, but add in Mack.....Tui and Dupree are not scaring any DC's....Let's take Asante off the board....now it gets interesting. Bozeman is an average centre, at best.....but losing him is a disaster for the offence. The RB room has 'wing and a prayer' written all over it, and it has nothing to do with coaching. Add in the biggest loss....Herbert. Suddenly this club has far too many reserve players playing starter minutes.....not a wise recipe for winning. They will be ok for 2024.....but 2025 is the year.

OK, you named a spot where we're average, C. Are there others? Herbert isn't lost. Players get hurt, true. Depth is important. I like the RBs after Gus and Dobbins. Good guys.
Suddenly this club has far too many depth starting? With no one on IR or PUP, Game one 3 weeks away. It seems you have an overactive imagination.

I have not been following much of this back and forth, but I agree with the highlighted. 2024 is a transition year where a winning record is expected. The team has player talent and I fully expect that Harbaugh will excel. A WC spot may be in reach. In 2025, a playoff spot is expected.

I have guessed that all along. We get another draft and have cap money next year.
Still hope for playoffs this year.
