Chargers rookie Joe Alt did not allow any pressures on 17 pass blocking snaps against the Rams yesterday. He’s carrying a 98.2 pass blocking efficiency rating on 30 pass blocking snaps in the preseason thus far. Alt is doing what a high first round pick should be expected to do....

I agree pass pro is big but he still needs to observe the rules unless he thinks Herbert is gonna get killed. Herbert wasn't playing. The really big question as week three preseason approaches.....Herbert....

My take: Still and Leonard are starter material. Which is nice. Still is only a rookie but he stays healthy he will become a fan favorite. Good cover good tackler football player. Vidal and Patterson need to be our RB depth. Send Spiller packing. Stick is bad. Perez impressed again being off the street brand new. Down field throws are night and day difference. Dicker is all pro level and a huge pro bowl snub. WR depth is still a battle !! That freakin Fehoko will not go away and we are proud of him for fighting to make our roster no matter what happens. Leonard had a nice game, enough so that it would be surprising if he didn't make roster. Same could be said of Vidal. He simply looked like a RB should. I do not think Stick is bad, he is jut reserve level talent. I don't care who they keep for reserve QB, if he is playing, you are losing. Dicker is money....... WR room is tough. Rice slipped a good bit, might (should?) end up being the typical late round pick getting cut. The offence is still a problem.....is that by design, or are they really a problem? Easton Stick now has the worst passer rating and passing grade of all preseason QBs with 25+ attempts.

Watching Stick they might make Herbert put the walking boot back on and play week 1 !

This season is one of transition.....2025 is the year for expectations.

Hopefully he is held back another entire week....then fingers crossed he is healthy enough to start the season.

That is what I would advocate. Herbert is experienced enough to go out with little practice time. Remember his rookie first game...."hey, you are playing, we just punctured what's his names lung"........ Herbert isn't the problem just yet. If his foot becomes incapacitating, big problems.

The expectation is for them to compete for a playoff spot this year. The Texans did it last year with a rookie QB and a rookie HC. Not to mention what was considered a poor roster. The Chargers have a record setting QB in his prime and an experience HC who has the highest winning percentage in NFL history.

Do you expect anyone to take you seriously? Every team needs a competent back up, Stick is the worst of the bunch. You don't want this team to win this year fine, but at least pretend the season isn't over before it starts.

This is a 4-5 win roster on its own. Herbert adds 2-3. Coaching might add 2-3. If they’re lucky with health (and generally) and players and coaches perform at a high level all year this might be a 8-10 win team. I don’t expect a playoff spot but think a wildcard is possible.

Our perspectives are wildly different. Herbert, the OL, TEs, RBs, WRs oughta be good for a few Ws. I think we have a 4-5 win roster with D players alone and a bunch of mediocre wannabes on O. Add STs thats 8-10 wins on player talent. Coaching? We're a playoff team. Let's see what we look like when the postseason gets going. I'm glad you said a WC is possible. Come on Sep 8. Go Bolts!
