My take: Still and Leonard are starter material. Which is nice. Still is only a rookie but he stays healthy he will become a fan favorite. Good cover good tackler football player. Vidal and Patterson need to be our RB depth. Send Spiller packing. Stick is bad. Perez impressed again being off the street brand new. Down field throws are night and day difference. Dicker is all pro level and a huge pro bowl snub. WR depth is still a battle !! That freakin Fehoko will not go away and we are proud of him for fighting to make our roster no matter what happens. Good takes. I think people were worried about our CBs and now that looks like a strong group with Zont and Fulton backed by Still and Leonard. I like what I saw from Vidal who can be a good #3 behind Jk and Gus. Patterson is add'l insurance. Spiller and Dotson are probably cuts. Our ba k up QB situation is intolerable. Stick isn't the answer and neither is Perez. I'd rather see Duggan run an RPO offense than Stick. I feel better about QJ and if Ladd is what we hope this group could become decent. I have no idea what we're doing at TE or Center. Defense looks pretty good. Was there a single missed tackle in this game? Refreshing to see Hortiz stick the LBs on top of each other.

The backups on offense aren't consistently bad or good except for Leatherwood. Bad. All starters won't be perfect but we can expect much better. I noticed that the run blocking was better for the most part. Play calls seemed more aggressive, better executed but with hiccups. Sorry to see Alt making mistakes but it's a learning experience. The new coaching staff also have a learning curve as they get used to the players, each other, and competition. It would not surprise me to see the bolts lay an egg in the September game(s). I will be looking for good halftime adjustments that shows the coaches can adapt to the situation. There is talent on the team, coaches need to create a game plan to get the win! Harbaugh talked about that in the post game. He said the staff had really good halftime adjustments and said the players have to listen !! He was not happy. He mentioned the other team ran two naked bootlegs (my fav. kind of course) and you can tell they had specifically warned the players about them.

They had Parham out there on running plays. On purpose. They love his routes and hands, but you HAVE to be able to block for them. If they can teach that, he's rounded enough to play TE for them. Some guys are blockers, some guys are catchers. Kittle is rare. Gates said blockers are for OL players. HA

Yet he didn't even play. The staff knows better than me , but ......

Leonard had a nice game, enough so that it would be surprising if he didn't make roster. Same could be said of Vidal. He simply looked like a RB should. I do not think Stick is bad, he is jut reserve level talent. I don't care who they keep for reserve QB, if he is playing, you are losing. Dicker is money....... WR room is tough. Rice slipped a good bit, might (should?) end up being the typical late round pick getting cut. The offence is still a problem.....is that by design, or are they really a problem? He's not even that. The last two weeks have proven that. The other teams have guys that are throwing around the field on us. THOSE are back up talent. Stick doesn't even throw downfield. He had a fumble and a INT, and I think they were on back to back series. The fumble was at the goal line...........

If QJ can catch the ball reliably, Parham's height will not give him a unique advantage. IMO, the bolts should keep Parham and place Smart on the practice squad. One cannot have too many weapons. Train up Matlock for that extra mini-monster-tackle/TE.

Not sure how they equate. Matlock is on thin ice of being cut. Moving inside D lineman to TE is Freak Approved !!!!

But if QJ and Parham can both highpoint a catch above the defenders, then Parham's primary skill set is not so special anymore.

New league rule that we can't have a WR and TE that can highpoint a ball ?? Parham special skill set is to get into the red zone and run the seam. Seams to me. Seam what I did there ?

Chargers rookie Joe Alt did not allow any pressures on 17 pass blocking snaps against the Rams yesterday. He’s carrying a 98.2 pass blocking efficiency rating on 30 pass blocking snaps in the preseason thus far.

He’s carrying a 98.2 pass blocking efficiency rating on 30 pass blocking snaps in the preseason thus far. He drew a couple flags. Needs to play with discipline. It's a learning experience. I agree pass pro is big but he still needs to observe the rules unless he thinks Herbert is gonna get killed. Herbert wasn't playing.

Centre is an issue....especially if injury occurs.
