LOL! I've been driving the "Fix the OL" train for years. And Roo has been there 99% of the ride. Glad to have you and Freak aboard. I am certain I was the guy that opened the door to let you on the train...... Whew. Those Canadian hockey locker rooms must be some wild times, let me tell you.

Yeah, Taylor's numbers aren't bad. I doubt that the Chargers will open up the new stadium with Tyrod at the helm, though. If Rivers got better protection, and RB's got better run blocking (especially in the redzone), this offense would be playing from ahead... rather than from behind. Rivers frantically trying to score in the last minutes of the game is not where you want to be every game. I think the decision may be influenced by the 25-30 million they will have to shell out to retain him. Could they use that money for an OL rebuild through free agency...? Will they use that money to re-sign Bosa...? If so... then I would be OK with Tyrod as a starter. Especially if he had a re-built OL. Should they draft a future QB...? Burrow will be gone by the time we draft. And Tua/Herbert have their own faults/inconsistencies I'm not comfortable with. I certainly wouldn't put a rookie behind the current OL... That there is your answer... I think some guys on this forum are actually scared of Tyrod playing and possibly putting up better numbers than PR. Michael Irvin on Showtime had an interesting take. If you get past his wildness, he sometimes has some insight.........
He stated : Chargers start off slow, then you see this crazed winning at the end of the season. Year after year after year. You have to do something to stop that. He said he would move on from Rivers.
Now, there is something to that. That slow start act has to stop/be stopped. Inject some new blood to make changes ?

That is grossly inaccurate. beyond Freak laughable. PR will be in the HOF. Tyrod will be looking for work in a few years. Fix what is needed, PR is fine for next year. Tyrod is a back up to him. Is PR finished? Only when the bolts are in a crunch and he tries to do it all and goes spastic. Ok, Tyrod blows may be hyberbole, but NO WAY does he start over PR. If there was no PR, sure. he was light years ahead of Geno and Cardale. scared? good grief

Now lets get to the present, TRUTH is you DONT know if Tyrod would put up better numbers than PR. I don't either... But I'm willing to wager if he was given a chance he would throw a whole lot less interceptions and you would see a resurgence of the run game.
But yea, keep living in the past with PR...

He's not our future. In my opinion. Hard to REALLY say all of that when he has been given no string of games to evaluate.
IS he a mini-Lamar Jackson ? Don't play, then we don't know.

apologies AF. I was more going after what I thought were silly thoughts of fear and living in the past. Trust me I really do not care one way or the other whether PR plays or Tyrod plays. Its not my call.
I'd rather have PR given a choice. He simply is better. If Lynn has made up his mind, he does not want PR next year, then by all means get tyrod some reps. Who knows how the QB situation will turn out through the draft and FA.

I don't enjoy losing faith in our franchise QB and future hall of famer, but to me the signs are there. Is he better or SHOULD he be better? I think the latter... We have a run game, we have WR's, we have our TE back. It can't be ALL on the Oline?

I actually think after he is gone, we will get team members throwing darts his way

This is not the first season the fans have been calling for his head. If you give him three seconds+ and options he is one of the best; he will thread a needle 30 yards downfield. When he is worried that the pocket collapses in two seconds he makes bad decisions which look like bad throws.

You are delusional in thinking Taylor is the answer, and even more delusional in thinking they move away from Rivers. Clubs don't walk from HOF QB's......and don't throw the Colts/Peyton crap at me. It can, and is, ALL ON THE OLINE...... Fix the OL, you will fix the offence. It really is that simple.

And yea the oline is not top tier, but a HoF QB should not have to use a bad oline as a crutch either... PR is on pace for the lowest number of TD passes for his career as a starter.
