I wasn't real happy with the third or fifth round picks. Not that I think the players are bad, but because they aren't likely to help this years team make a SB run. We could have added another good DT in the third, perhaps a WR or CB in the fifth. The picks TT made in those rounds were picks for the future and we were pretty close to the big dance last year so I think those picks should have been made to improve this years team. Don't worry, they destroyed my ALL IN campaign during free agency.
Agree on rounds 3 and 5. I would have answered Ty Williams leaving with a WR. FA ? No. Draft ? No.

It is obvious that TT /Coaches feel the loss of TW is not insurmountable, and in fact they already have the WR's to do it.

Or is it only obvious when other posters want other positions ?

No, I would agree, they seem content with their options at OG. Hoping that works out well......same hope for OT.

Here's the truth - none of us go to practices, know the coaches, and so on at even one of the many schools that play football. We may think we know better but most of the time it turns out the scouts and front office and coaches know better than we do. Case in point in this draft, when the third round came up I was aware of 2 OT's that I liked for us. They ignored them and took Pipkins. I had never even heard of him before that very moment. But, I can be sure they were well aware of the guys I liked and for some reason they took Pipkins. Common sense tells me they scouted all three of these guys and liked a guy from a small school more so I probably should just hope they got it right. But then, it's fun to gripe about it and think I'm right at least until the facts come out.

I believe our questioning the TT pick has merit because some of us myself included have lost faith in TT and his scouts ability to draft o linemen. The crappy history speaks for itself. That and the fact that our favorite player is getting up there in age and by now deserves a stout o line to protect him.If the O line sucks again and Rivers gets banged up he might say to hell with it and retire which would put us right up shit creek.

Either the FO thinks that the aforementioned OTs are not going to be better than Tevi, or Lamp is moving to RT. I'm leaning towards the former. A) Not really feeling a lot of confidence in our FO right now. B) Almost anyone would be better than Tevi right now. C) Praying/hoping/performing archaic rituals/dances/sacrifices that the latter is true. #Free Woodeye #Free Lamp To add to what I already mentioned earlier, it's actually better that Lamp plays and excel at RG versus RT. A QB like Rivers needs a stronger interior than edge protection.

The drafting history of OL for TT isn't very solid, no question, but I think they changed the approach....or did so with Pipkins at least. That change, from looking at ready to go OL with high level experience, but that bring aspects that need correcting, to looking at a more raw player with no bad habits and projecting out that talent if well coached. It is a very similar approach to what we do in ice hockey, as we are drafting kids, 17-18 year olds that won't see the NHL for years....if ever. So scouting them, and being able to project their skills development is huge if you want to be successful. Of course coaching is very important, and one of the big comments about how a prospect was ruined if they did not pan out. Will this approach work, who knows, but what TT and group have been doing for OL clearly has not been very successful. They needed to change......

Lose Okung and Pouncy, look at what they are left with.....no, I would be far from content. I can hear it now.....12-4 12-4 Yea, go rest on last years record, see how that works this year.

I will help you out, it politely implies I am not a huge fan of Feeney. Will he take a step forward and become less of a liability, one can only hope.
