I noticed that as well, but not too surprising, we seem to share a similar draft style. Did he have Simmons too ? No, I did not. But the guy I really wanted (Andrew Thomas) went 4th to the Giants... so he wasn't available. After the OT's... I would have been all in on Simmons. I'm on board with Kenneth Murray, though!

I'm on board with Kenneth Murray, though! Andrew Thomas was a neat story this offseason. He was the number 1 rated OT in a great OT pool this year. Then people got all creamy about the other top OT's in the draft. Andrew Thomas slide down the board. I never understood why. The Giants never lost sight of who they believed was the best OT prospect in the draft. Good for them.

I noticed that as well, but not too surprising, we seem to share a similar draft style. True. We both value trenches. I think that will be the downfall of this year's season. Maybe if it's bad enough (not cheering for that, but...) we'll be in a position to draft an elite OT to protect Herbert in his sophomore season. Maybe the OT out of Oregon (Herbert's protector last season)...? The similarities are more than a recognition of the need for solid talent in the OL/DL, as it seems we evaluate talent the same, or seem to like the same players. I would also say we build the roster in a similar fashion, recognizing the balance between BPA/PON, as well as round we are picking in and the value in the later round choices. As far as this roster goes and how it might play out, I do agree OL is the weak aspect of the club, currently. LOT is the big question mark, and aside from Freak's disapproval of Pipkins, the moves by TT imply solid confidence in what they have for LOT. Not too sure I share that confidence, but there are instances where players make big gains from year one to two, so let us hope. The big problem is the depth, they are just not good enough, and if you are not drafting it you are not improving it. or so I think.......

Teams have to make cuts before the start of the season. I get the feeling he's not done at LT.

I tend to believe that OT's impact the game as much as QB's and pass rushers... and they should be chosen in the 1st round (sometimes 2nd round). Whereas, other positions can be had in later rounds. This year, I viewed the RB and WR positions as very deep. I thought we could get good ones rounds 4-7... and I think we did. If Bulaga gets injured this season, we are in deep trouble and could be drafting top-5 next year. At least we'd be in a position to draft a top OT (not that we would). Which is the biggest frustration I have with TT & Co. I wouldn't put Herbert anywhere near the field this year...

Anyone else want to build a roster from last 2 years' drafts...? Usually I do it in real-time (as the draft goes on live). But for inclusion purposes, I give you the right of hindsight 20/20 vision (since it's hard to tell how last year's rookies will turn out in the long run.
Rules are simple:
1)You can only choose players that were available when we (Chargers) made the actual pick. Example: In 2019, I chose Greg Little in the 1st instead of Jerry Tillery. 2) You can choose to keep Chargers' players on your roster that the Chargers themselves let go... as long as they fit under the actual cap. Example: I kept Rivers as my QB. 3) You can cut players from the actual Chargers' roster to save you cap space. But if you do so, you can't have them on your roster. Example: I cut Pouncey. He's not on my roster, but neither is his salary...
It's all in fun...

The players are just assets, to be used until their value is no longer.
