The chargers have a solid option to upgrade the line without resorting to signing anyone from outside, they can put bulaga on IR, slide fieler to RT and start jaimes next to slater. I think they haven’t done this yet because they are worried about the lack of experience but both jaimes and fieler are smart kids and both played a ton in college, I think they’d be fine. Hunter would fill the back up guard spot and nothing else needs to change, just one guy on IR and one guy moved up from practice squad. The line would instantly get younger and healthier. We’ve already seen this bulaga starts and exits early in game show all of last season, I think the team needs to bite the bullet and make this move for the sake of consistency and stability along the line. The team has already answered this. They said they would plug Norton in for RT, and that is what they did. Its a forum, so keep posting whatever you want, but they already answered this on the field. They are not sliding 4 players around for one opening. Herbert had all day to throw yesterday. Lot's of time. The end. Fieler was a RT for the steelers before they moved him to LG to deal with all the injuries they had. It’s well known his PFF grades were ten points higher at RT than they were at LG while at pittsburg. It’s one of the reasons many people thought his signing was INSURANCE in case bulaga continued to have injury issues. This is not something I came up with, I’ve read this from at least two different people that cover the chargers. I want the same thing you want, I want to protect herbert and for the chargers to win, period. Whatever gives the team the best chance to do that, especially if it’s possible to accomplish it with the players already acquired and on the team. The Oline is only as strong as it’s weakest link. Starting norton over jaimes because bulaga can’t stay on the field means pipkins is one single snap from coming into the game. I can’t imagine anyone wanting that to happen. Keeping norton on the bench as the swing by playing jaimes instead makes more sense.

Staley has said quite bluntly that in the event of injury to Bulaga, Norton would enter the game, as opposed to the machinations you and others mention/prefer. Poor play from Norton might get Staley to change his stated approach, might get TT trading for a better RT option.

Of course, let’s just hope pipkins doesn’t have to play significant snaps because we all know what that looks like

Watch Slater on the key 3rd & 16 conversion to Slayer where he goes up against Chase Young. 👏

Watch Slater on the key 3rd & 16 conversion to Slayer where he goes up against Chase Young. 👏 He was amazing. The stars have aligned for us to really make a run with our All pro QB on his rookie deal. The play calling to seal the game at the end was so refreshing.
Great time to be a charger fan.

LOT's are not cheap, and the Chargers have theirs on a rookie deal as well as Herbert. Great window of opportunity.

The line played great yesterday against the best front seven in the NFL. Instead of enjoying that fact you would rather continue to push your own narrative. Odd.

Justin Herbert had 52 dropbacks yesterday. Here are the pressures allowed by the #Chargers OL: Slater - ZERO!!!! Feiler - 3 (initial report had him at 2 but the final report added one) Linsley - 0 Aboushi - 0 Bulaga - 1 (30 reps) Norton - 1 (22 reps)

And a related note is that Herbert was great under pressure last year and only decent with time/without pressure. If he can maintain his success without pressure like he did vs WFT then you have a very dangerous QB with amazing talent.

And the best part... you don't have to listen to me beating the table for a left tackle and a center anymore.
I finally got what I wanted. Expect winning to continue.
