Slater is just a young Brute. Very worthy of our high draft pick. It was all predicted. Get your franchise QB. Turn right around and draft your LT next. We have them both under a rookie contract.

“One thing about Slater is that he’s never on the ground.” The late great Marty Schottenheimer’s kind of player. I can still hear Marty bellowing across the field multiple times every training camp practice: “Stay off the ground!!!!” 👍

You should be safe from ever running into him given that the NFL studios adjacent to SoFi in Inglewood is where he is located. I, on the other hand ...

The studio is right next to SoFi. They should be pimping our guys more on those shows. When we kick Dallas' ass will start to get some love. If you see him, I need a rugby tackle please. I said please.

Popper had been waiting for the All-22 video to be released so that he could properly conduct a film study of the WFT game. The video finally dropped, so this article was just posted. I’ll post the intro and link, but you really need to look at the article itself since he posts many freeze-frame photos throughout the article to accompany the text. Conclusion: Slater was every bit as good on Sunday as we all thought. 🍺 ____ Chargers Film Room: Rashawn Slater looks like cornerstone left tackle in debut Daniel Popper The Chargers have a franchise left tackle. That is what the tape from Sunday’s win over Washington showed me. In his regular-season debut, Rashawn Slater was absolutely spectacular. It was the best individual performance from an offensive lineman I have seen since I started covering the team in 2019. He did not allow a single pressure despite facing off against one of the best edge-rushing duos in the league Chase Young and Montez Sweat. He was a force in the run game when the Chargers rushed behind him. The Chargers have been waiting a long time for an offensive lineman of this caliber. Slater is everything he was advertised to be — and more. It is only one game, he is a rookie, and there might be bumps in the road as this season progresses. But one thing is abundantly clear: Slater is a special, special player. Let’s dive into the film. theathletic.com/2831030/2021/09/16/chargers-film-room-rashawn-slater-looks-like-cornerstone-left-tackle-in-debut/

As the window opens, one must start looking at which of the critical players will need replacing first....and how soon. It will be an interesting, and hopefully fun, next 3-4 years!
