There was a Natrone TD that would have been reversed on replay as well. Yes, there was a Means fumble call near the end zone that became very important, but it wasn’t a TD. Trailing 21-6, Means fumbled inside the 1 going for the pylon on the first megalong drive of the 2nd half that looked like it went out of bounds in the end zone. It would have been marked at the 20 had the call gone that way. Instead, the Chargers turned it over on downs inside the 1 when Means got stuffed on 4th & goal on the next play. Marino led the Dolphins on three long TD drives in the first half, but the Dolphins only had one snap in the 3rd quarter when they were stuffed on a run for a safety on the ensuing play making it 21-8. Following the free kick, Natrone & the Bolts marched on another long time-consuming TD drive to make the score 21-15 in the 4th quarter. There were numerous bad calls during the game with most going against the Chargers, but that mark of the Natrone fumble was a huge one as far as momentum goes as the safety was the turning point of the game. No it was the TD I was referring to. You made me look it up www.google.com/amp/s/www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-1995-01-09-sp-17980-story.html%3f_amp=true

The article says that Means was out of bounds at the 3 on the TD run (would have been 1st & goal if called), so now I’m really confused because the article didn’t mention anything about Means fumbling the ball through the end zone on that play. I’m sure that it happened on one of the drives. Now I really have to pull the game out of the vaults and watch it this weekend.

Regardless, I dug up the DVD that I burned the game onto and will enjoy it this weekend (including the late great Shula in his motorized wheelchair). The best part about Roo's tape was that it includes the pregame show and the entire telecast with the commercials cut out. I believe that Terry said that his son made the tape for him as a gift! Same goes with the Chargers - Steelers AFC Championship Game DVD: It has the pregame, the full telecast (minus commercials) and the postgame on it. I may go for a doubleheader as a weekend treat!! 🍺 Now this thread can go back to the Cheatriots theme. 😉

The one game I would have liked to of seen Shula win was the 1985 AFCCG at home vs. the Patriots in the rain.
Had the Dolphins won that game it would have been the 15-1 Bears vs. the only team to of beat them that year (MNF 38-24).
Would have been the most watched SB by far at least by the time since populations grow and I feel it would have been way closer than a 44-10 rout.

Where the hell is af at ?? His Cam Newton got signed by the Patriots. He has to be excited for him. Now wait for some Belichick evil genius...........I know evil genius when I see it, trust me: Yes, the league punished the Patriots for filming the Bengals. To distract from the bad news, the Patriots announced that they signed Cam Newton 17 minutes before the NFL announced the Patriots punishment. Ladies and gentlemen, that was SEVENTEEN MINUTES BEFORE THE PUNISHMENT WAS ANNOUNCED......................... Its pure unmitigated genius. I tip my hat to the Evil Hooded One.

I am so grateful that there is actually some FOOTBALL related tidbit of news to discuss instead of politics, pandemics, and protests!
Granted, it's the Patriots- first for getting punished for another indiscretion and then for signing a high profile free agent.
Does anyone think it's a coincidence that the Cam signing came on the SAME day as the news broke about their punishment for cheating again?
I think Belichick waited for this so that the Cam news would dwarf the scandal. He is an evil genius.

This tells me some things: Belicheat might not be as high on Stidham as was being led on or the organization was tired of being told to sign Kaepernick... Either way its a good signing for both parties...
