One wonders why they make that decision based on what we know now.

California COVID-19 deaths = 8,300 (21 out of 100,000) which is a death rate of 0.02% (half of the 8,300 who died were over 80 years old) which means 99.98% of people survive COVID-19
California Deaths Annually:
65,000 heart disease
60,000 cancer
16,000 stroke
16,000 alzheimers
14,000 respiratory illness
10,000 diabetes
5,000 liver failure
14,000 accidents
5,000 suicide
United States Deaths:
Covid 3.4% based on confirmed cases. However 92% of that is over 45 years of age, with 80% of that coming from 65 yrs old and up. For 20 to 35 its about .7%. So the risk is to them is very low. Esp when you consider that it is obesity and diabetes are the highest co-moridity.
The death count is off by about 25%. The estimates by the CDC is the infection count is 10x the current 4 million. So its actually 40 million. Which brings the death rate to .3%
The Flu is about .2%
