This will be the 5th year in the league for Davis and he has yet to make a catch in the league - www.chargers.com/team/players-roster/geremy-davis/careerThat's not a great resume' - additionally, he's 27 years old compared to 22/23 for the other WR's in the running. And he's from UConn - a basketball school. I'm not pimping Davis for anything. I liked him slightly better last year, and he made the team. That's it. The main point, that none of you have solved let alone recognized, is long ball Williams and his take the top off a defense 16.3 YPC career numbers isn't just replaced with unproven's and a magic wand. Do I think its the end of the world, no. But you are letting blind homerism guide you to pretend it isn't an issue. The staff and Whiz have to find a way. It's their job. I agree that TW was a deep threat with his speed and that will be missed. I was hoping they could keep him but he wanted too much money - that's the modern NFL.

TW ran a 4.4 40 yard dash, MW ran a 4.49 40 yard dash.......TB ran 4.3..... Not worried about 'taking the top off of the defence' as the Bolts still have those that can accomplish that task. HH and TB replace the production of TW, easily so...... Losing TW isn't an issue, and "blind homerism" has nothing to do with it, TW simply wasn't that big of a deal.

The first sensible reply I have seen in many pages. I applaud you sir. Not the Goalie. Not Mods. It took Hall of Famer Roo.
I am not shocked.

How do we counter ? Ball control ? A little Gordon then Allen for a 1st down ? A littler Ekeler, then Scott for the 1st ? Gordon, Ekeler, then BAM Henry for the first ?

Benjamin is a proven "take the top off" receiver. He's That guy. We need to replace @ 40 receptions per year. Henry is a top candidate to fill that hole but there's room for a young WR or two.

Oooooooo, I want to be on the Freak train, I want to be on the Freak train !!!!!!!!
So, TB wasn't productive enough, and was going to get too much money, wasn't worth it, and we had to cut him. But the second Ty Will left, TB became Jerry Rice.
Completely Freak Approved. I likey. I'm on board.
(Disclaimer: I am the only one that liked TB way back when he was at Cleveland.)

Here's another thought about Benjamin - he made a few really good, really important catches in some of the most important games down the stretch. Maybe, just maybe, he underutilized earlier in the the year.

Maybe, just maybe, he underutilized earlier in the the year. I don't know the details but I'm sure there were reports that he was playing injured. Keep him off special teams return duty this year, use that stretch-the-field speed at WR. Whether we throw at him or not, it loosens the mid field coverage. No DB wants him running past them.

Isn't that the truth......Rivers would love to see defences not really covering TB on deep routes.
