Jeez, what have I wrought with my presence yesterday! Hopefully significant means the rest of the offseason. He looked fine picking off the deflection late in yesterday’s practice. Standout Chargers safety Derwin James was not practicing Friday and had a boot on his right foot. James will be out a significant amount of time, but how much remains to be determined, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported, per a source. James injured his foot Thursday. Around The NFL will have more on this developing story shortly. www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000001041919/article/chargers-derwin-james-out-for-significant-time

Ugggggggghhh!!! The fifth metatarsal is the bone on the outside of the midfoot at the base of the small toe. The proximal end of the fifth metatarsal (proximal means closer to the center of the body) is easily felt as the bump over the outside part of the midfoot. This part of the fifth metatarsal bone is prone to injury. The fifth metatarsal is the most commonly fractured of all the metatarsal bones. Three primary types of fractures occur in the proximal fifth metatarsal, and all have different treatment implications. Like all other medical issues, not every fracture will fall perfectly into one of these three fracture types, but these categories are useful for treatment guidance. Avulsion Fractures Avulsion fractures, sometimes called a pseudo-Jones fracture, when the tip of the bone is pulled off the fifth metatarsal by the tendon that attaches to this region. Avulsion fractures tend to heal easily, and seldom require surgical treatment. Most often these injuries can be treated similarly to a ligament or tendon injury. Usually, a stiff-soled shoe, such as a cast shoe, is worn for a few weeks until the pain and swelling have subsided. Full healing takes 6-8 weeks. www.verywellhealth.com/fifth-metatarsal-fractures-2548666

Sigh!!!!!
I guess that we can be somewhat grateful that it isn’t a lisfranc.
Sounds like availability will be somewhere between Week 4 to Week 6 given that it’s a hairline.

4 to 6 weeks. We can survive that. But I am just so afraid that it will linger on. Ugh, not the best news to get before bedtime.

Losing James is huge, and while there are competent reserves, they are not James.
We saw how ugly a foot injury can be with previous Bolt players. Praying this is the least it can be.

Goalie says: "We have depth. We are fine with J. Jackson, Ekeler, and Pope. TT doesn't have to do anything James is under contract. TT has plenty of horses in the corral. Blah blah blooey." Wait. Which Pro Bowler are you discussing again ? Oh how I laugh at the hypocrisy. FLAME ME RIGHT NOW FOR EXPOSING ALL BIASES ON HERE !!!!!! FLAME FLAME FLAME

Ok. Here comes my good with the bad: We'll do the baddie first.
From Adderley I have seen flapping rookie lips, and a "hamstring" injury that has lasted about 51 months. Watkins I didn't like the signing the day it happened. You got to do something baby ! If you are taking up a roster spot on a playoff team, then its time to contribute. Help your unit for heavens sake.
Half baddie: I fear they had Jenkins lose weight to compete for free safety. Whoopsie, we need strong safety help.
The good: Heaven bless our Phillips and Jenkins. Our late 2018 hero's are called to duty once more. So proud.

FLAME FLAME FLAME At least you are consistent in how you twist things....... I have said many times, having Gordon is the preference....... Losing James is a much bigger deal than losing Gordon, and it actually isn't even close.
