So you are Spanos, or TT, or whomever it is making the big decisions. You have decided to move on from Lynn. What priorities are utilized to begin to define a search? What traits get a coach placed on the list, or removed from the list? No need to name any specific coach, just an outline of how you would go about finding that new HC. We have 3 ways to do it. I will list them in my order of preference: The Monday after the Super Bowl, get a good NFL coach that was just fired. Hire a great assistant coach around the NFL. Hire a college coach. So your preference is to hire a NFL experienced HC that was recently fired because of failure at the NFL level.

I can't think of a single coach that is on the hot seat that I would want... Maybe Pederson in Philadelphia but I don't think he gets fired. We need an up and coming college coach. Not a retread and not a coordinator that looks good because they work for Andy Reid or Bill Belicheck.

There are a Lot of other examples of a HC who did well with a new team.

No, there was an issue last season before Harris. Lynn couldn’t work it out. That’s supposed to be his strong suit. Instead we traded a good football player for nothing.

Instead we traded a good football player for nothing. The perception TT traded talent away and received far too little in return is the part that will bother the players. It feels like the club buried him by not playing him, then replaced him, then traded him for poor return, all in an attempt to portray his value as minimal. If that is anywhere near accurate, really bad business for club to be involved in. There is a right way to handle these situations, and we (Montreal) just did it the right way.

Philly was firing Andy Reid so KC hired him and he won a Super Bowl there.
