I will be exactly opposite of most here. I personally would prefer to hear a "good" new song that I've only heard perhaps a dozen times than a "great" song that I've heard a thousand times, I guess I have A.D.D. To me music is like technology, it has the capability to get better every year. But ... here is my decades favorite music: 80's Motley Crue 90's Stone Temple Pilots 00's System of a Down Now Hollywood Undead Well, you’re the opposite of me, but probably not everyone. I did like Crüe and STP though...

Led Zeppelin has always been my favourite. Loved KISS in the '70's and I'm finally going to see them play next month. My parents, God love them, let me go to a Rush concert in grade 4 and a Queen concert in grade 6. My uncle was a lawyer who represented bands who played here and was usually given tickets to the shows. Wasn't much of a Concert goer. I only remember 4. BTO was my first. Cars, Kinks, Van Halen. Might have seen the stixs. Van Halen was the worst. Roth came out so drunk he forgot song lyrics and never finished the concert. Eddie and the band saved it by playing some great jams. Mostly all instrumental once Roth was lead off stage. Roth was pretty bad in their recent tour with him as well. Not like you described, just old and washed up. I’m part of the 1% that prefers the Hagar era over the Roth era for Van Halen anyway, and I honestly don’t think it’s even close. The comparison of talent between DLR and Sammy is pretty ridiculously one-sided. I’d say Roth’s greatest (and really only) strength was he knew how to make a goofy music video at a time that was the rise of MTV. If you stack up the Top 5 Van Halen songs from each era, I think Sammy wins easily. I’ll even take that a step further, and say if you take the Top 5 songs from Sammy’s solo career and/or from Montrose, and stack those against the Top 5 Van Halen Roth era songs, Sammy wins again.

Phantom of the Opera Live is a personal favorite. Energy ! Man, there's something extra in an energy level when you have a South American stadium rock audience bouncing around to a hard rock / metal riff!! Can't remember which game it was when I opened the OGDT thread with this one (possibly the instant classic December game in KC), but you get the same vibe from the Buenos Aires crowd as the Chilean audience in IM!!!

Couldn’t agree more about the South American crowds, they are in an elite class of their own, and very much a part of the show. There is no doubt why they were selected to be the live show for the DVD releases. It’s even more impressive, when you consider the music is being sung in a language that is not their primary native language.
The energy is contagious too, these videos should come with a warning not to watch right before going to bed, or you very well could end up pulling an unexpected all nighter.
When I see Iron Maiden again this summer, I’m gonna be in my Company’s Suite, so will get an amazing unobstructed birds eye view of the stage & crowd (unfortunately not a SA crowd though). I’m really looking forward to that, and will surely get some great vids.

Thanks Joe. I never heard of him. That sound is one that will last forever. Miserlou in the opening credits of "Pulp Fiction" perfectly sets the tone for the film. Dick Dale influenced a huge number of guitarists, one being James Marshall Hendrix who employed the same right-handed guitar strung upside-down technique as Dale. Dale's father was Lebanese, and his unique style blended Mideast guitar techniques with R&R.
