Phantom of the Opera Live is a personal favorite. Energy ! Man, there's something extra in an energy level when you have a South American stadium rock audience bouncing around to a hard rock / metal riff!!Can't remember which game it was when I opened the OGDT thread with this one (possibly the instant classic December game in KC), but you get the same vibe from the Buenos Aires crowd as the Chilean audience in IM!!! The lead singer of Megadeth said Buenos Aires Argentia was the band's favorite place to play because of the audience - they go hard!

Led Zeppelin has always been my favourite. Loved KISS in the '70's and I'm finally going to see them play next month. My parents, God love them, let me go to a Rush concert in grade 4 and a Queen concert in grade 6. My uncle was a lawyer who represented bands who played here and was usually given tickets to the shows. Wasn't much of a Concert goer. I only remember 4. BTO was my first. Cars, Kinks, Van Halen. Might have seen the stixs. Van Halen was the worst. Roth came out so drunk he forgot song lyrics and never finished the concert. Eddie and the band saved it by playing some great jams. Mostly all instrumental once Roth was lead off stage. BTO was a good Canadian band. You saw the Kinks? That's gold.

Loved KISS in the '70's and I'm finally going to see them play next month. I’ve seen them 4 times, and will be taking my kids to see them this summer. I was hoping they would tour a little longer, so my kids would be a bit older when I eventually took them to a show, but I guess Father Time won that battle. Regardless of what anyone thinks about the music, the live show is incredible... I still like some of KISS's tunes. Cheezy but catchy. I've asked my wife to call me Dr. Love the day of the concert.

Alright, this post isn't exactly about music, but it does include the most-sung song at British funerals, so I decided to stick the post here rather than create another thread ... Today is the 40th anniversary of the release of what IMO is the most brilliant comedy film ever we-leased on so so many levels: Going to watch it again on Netflix tonight as it never ever fails to make me laugh for a straight 90 minutes despite my being a practicing Catholic because of its historical accuracy of the divisions that were present in those times along with its foresight into the future that makes it still relevant and very timely today. www.netflix.com/title/699257

Interview of Merry Clayton (background singer on Gimme Shelter) from the movie "20 Feet From Stardom"... I remember watching this clip a couple of years ago. Love the concept of this Oscar winning film, but to my knowledge it has never been available on any of the streaming services that I pay for without paying extra. I will probably pony up the one beer price at the bar at some point!

And then you follow up with a couple of Muscle Shoals clips!! You are a man that would have loved desertswo’s knowledge & passion for 60’s-70’s rock/R&B/Blues, etc!
At a restaurant with the family, so will need to relisten to all when I get home.

Topping off Merry Clayton's immortal studio recording, here is a young Lisa Fischer blowing off the roof with an absolutely incendiary version of the Stones' iconic Gimme Shelter:

Interview of Merry Clayton (background singer on Gimme Shelter) from the movie "20 Feet From Stardom"... What I never realized before tonight is that Merry Clayton is the sister of Little Feat's percussionist Sam Clayton. www.littlefeat.net/sam-clayton-bio.htmlPlayed on this pretty good tune with a couple of fair to middlin' backup singers on the Midnight Special:

Desertswo was a huge Laurel Canyon buff whose historical knowledge of the era sparked my interest to learn more about it.
This should be a great film that opens Memorial Day weekend:

Prett darned cool: HOFer Lem Barney sang backup on Marvin Gaye’s classic “What’s Going On”. Part of LA Times’ NFL reporter Sam Farmer’s interview with him during a NFL tour to Israel a while back.

First time I ever heard a crowd sing the guitar riff in an instrumental.
