I have been saying that all year.....the roster is improving, but not there yet. Staley is mediocre at this point...... No you haven't... You've been TT's biggest homer, I like that you're finally on board though. TT has done a solid job......his work continues. The roster is improving, all while the state of the organization remains sound (a part of the GM job you hate to recognize).....thank you TT.

Yea, we can lose to one of the worst teams in the NFL by 41 points and you think the "state of the organization is sound"... Keep the jokes coming. TT has been here since 2013 right? Look at the special teams ranking during TT's tenure... That shit is very telling.

They were absolutely a playoff quality team 10 days ago. I saw a team that was capable of beating the 31 other teams. There were other factors today, but a couple of star players on big $$$ contracts let down their 60+ teammates with their “personal decision” that sunk the franchise in 2021. They got a scare a couple of weeks ago when they could have taken action, but no dice. 😡 The bright side is that it makes one off-season decision a lot easier to make. You’re finally with me on trading Bosa? Between the concussions and Covid decisions he is not worth the contract McRugby and I fought over that big contract of Bosa's. You already know what happens when you argue with me. You will fail every time. I want to see him attack you over Bosa. I'm the innocent little poster on the board that he attacked.

I see people saying there is plenty of blame to go around for this EMBARRASSMENT of a game.
No there isn't.
It is 100% the head coach's job to have your team ready to play. Love him or hate him, it's 100 %.

Losing a single game, such as yesterday's, is not on the GM. I know, you put the onus on TT because it is his responsibility to provide the players. The roster was decimated by covid restrictions, and was clearly the biggest impact to available talent. That noted, I thought Staley and staff did a poor job, in many aspects. Then the simple reality is the players failed as well. Moving forward and looking to corrections, I would endorse a rebuild of this defence. Bosa, James.....heck, there is not a single defence player that would not be available for trade.

They have flashes......and those flashes get the talking heads yapping about potential. Then there are enough games played to actually get a feel for the club, and it is obvious the Chargers are so inconsistent that they are pretenders in the pursuit of a Super Bowl berth. Yea, on any given day they might be trouble......hold onto to that while watching the clubs that actually make the post season.

I'm throwing sound evidence at you but you got the blinders on and won't admit TT is holding this team back.

How many division titles have we won under TT? How many AFCCG? At least AJ got us there...

Teams coached by good coaches have bad games. But more often than not, they play as though they were well-prepared, and consistently. They have justified confidence in each other. That doesn’t mean they can’t or don’t lose to teams with better schemes and talent. There’s just something obvious about discipline, consistency, and attitude.
Teams coached by lesser coaches have no identity. They look lost. They’re inconsistent. And they don’t have an attitude of justified confidence.
Right now, the Chargers don’t have an identity. They talk a big game, but they don’t act like gangsters. Maybe Staley needs to focus more on being a great coach, and coaching up consistent players, than coming up with nicknames the kids will love.

ST's are a problem, but that is a combination of poor coaching and low talent. Somehow I just don't buy the talent angle, and believe it is more of a coaching issue. You and I see the GM job from very different perspectives. I believe your view is pretty narrow in scope, leaning heavily towards roster development. While mine leans much more towards an overall management of the organization, with being fiscally sound the priority. I do not believe TT, or even Staley, is holding the team back. I think achieving what we both seek, winning, is far more difficult than given credit.

Belichick is the gold standard for what you describe. I also don’t see the Patriots having many Covid cases. Iron fist

You mention the word 'discipline' and I think that is one area that Staley lacks. From afar, it seems like Staley is committed to becoming a 'players' coach, and that is all fine and dandy if you are winning. They are not winning, and the tone needs to change. Urgency, effort, attitude......all were missing yesterday. That comes from leadership....from Staley......it was nowhere to be found.

I suspect an unbending standard of expectations is really the driver.....along with the guy is quite smart about game plans built around the players he has.
