So Tyrod is Geno or Cardele Two point O? He is neither......more accurate passer than both, smarter than both.....better athlete than both as well. Definite upgrade....now we have to hope AL doesn't cut him.

This is a serious question, perhaps to save me from looking these things up: Are you CERTAIN that Tyrod is smarter than Geno Smith and Cardale Jones? And more accurate? (As to athleticism, there are numbers I can readily see. Cardale sure sports a much bigger body though -- which sometimes benefits QB's, no?) Where did you find these facts?

Smarter is a poor way to put it, but Taylor takes care of the football in a way that Smith never has. He makes better decisions.

Not seeing it. Geno was a poor read, scrambled a lot because of it, when he did read his decision seem wrong or his throw inaccurate. Cardele could not scramble as well as Geno, and made better reads, but his accuracy was worse then Geno's. Seems to me Tyrod scrambles, reads like cardele but is as inaccurate as Geno. So we traded in two poor QB's for one hybrid poor one. He was a bench warmer in Buffalo. This is like expecting Lamp to start isn't it? If all Telesco has for FA is familiarity with former players from Buffalo, then the bolts will go no where with FA signings. It would be all draft. Maybe TT ability is enough better that all is not lost if PR goes down, Franchise though? I have serious doubts

So I'm not happy. I'll lean toward trusting you on this one because I want the bolts to succeed.

Unless I'm missing someone, please name another back up QB who has that pedigree that Taylor has as a backup on the Chargers? I will wait. We would have at least 2 Super Bowl rings by now if we had kept Brad Sorenson.

If by smarter, you mean making better decisions and not throwing picks, then Taylor clearly has the edge over Geno. Look at career stats for both on TD to Int. ratio: Taylor: 53 TD's, 20 picks, QBR 89.6
Smith: 29 TD's, 36 picks, QBR 72.7 Cardale has very little stat-wise, but we all know from a couple of preseasons how awful he is at throwing a lot of picks...
