I feel like this Sean Payton stuff is just a fans dream and the media is fueling it for clicks... Its a distraction, but here's to hoping some of it is true. Then why is Sean wasting his sundays hiding in the shadows at Sofi? He’s been spitting confirmed in several home games this year |

He’s been spitting confirmed in several home games this year We historically do not pay coaches, Payton will want to get paid, its just not the Charger/Spanos way. You know Herbert will get paid, would be nice to have a coach to match his talent, but its just not likely.

But it's about time this team got a quality coach and won a Superbowl, fans have waited long enough. Just because he won with the Saints doesn't mean anything though, have to find a guy that changes the culture here, that can work on the injury issues that arise every year, that can find quality players without draining the bank account.

Sean is a culture creator, to answer your culture part. Just looking at both sides of the Payton thing. This could go one of two ways in a win/loss scenario. In a fan base scenario it's a win-win, Payton will put butts in seats.

Staley has emphasized player competition. I like it. The only way to feel any security as a HC should be winning.

Yep. You can emphasize player competition, you can talk about gritty tough games and ball playing Jessie’s but if you can’t make the playoffs with Justin Herbert you should be unemployed |

They should be applauded for their efforts! Not a chance Staley is released......and while Payton is a good HC, not a chance Spanos would pay what it would cost, thankfully.

Do you just sometimes want to be a contrarian? Sometimes you defend the front office vehemently, in other posts you're calling for the coordinators to be fired. Which is it?

There’s still 7 games left so the story isn’t written but I don’t think Staley deserves to continue if we don’t make the playoffs. There’s no defense for a bottom ranked defense 2 years running when that is supposed to be your expertise. And yes we’ve been decimated by injuries but we have enough guys back now. I’m not happy with the roster build as JC Jackson is our version of the Russell Wilson signing and we let some key guys go who would have been very valuable depth/starters. |
