I hope so, but ask yourself if you think the Spanos family will pay Sean Payton 20 mill a year?
They will fire Lombardi and bring in the OC from John Carol university or some other dude we never heard of.

If I was the owner, I would take a few days....
To me the issue is consistent, halftime adjustments are almost always bad.
So who owns that? Lombardi for the O, Staley for the D.....
Staley, Lombardi, Hill should be gone for sure.
ST's improved greatly.....probably keeping that coach. lol

If I was the owner, I would take a few days.... To me the issue is consistent, halftime adjustments are almost always bad. So who owns that? Lombardi for the O, Staley for the D..... Staley, Lombardi, Hill should be gone for sure. ST's improved greatly.....probably keeping that coach. lol The key is “a few days.” No weeks. Days. Take a step back, run through the decision tree, then make decisions. And any final decision that doesn’t include firing Staley, Lombardi, and Hill is a bad one. |

The decision should be based off of the entirety of the season, and with Staley, his entire time as HC. My previous post should come with a disclaimer, as I am making a presumption of responsibility. I do not know the internal structure Staley has in place. There clearly are positives and negatives, to be considered, but in the end the question always asked... Can we win a Championship with these guys? Consistent poor adjustments tell me they get out coached, so my answer would be a 'no'.....

But do i want someone fired yes. that is no a contradiction. I would at least talk, thet do not have to make a decision yet. Lombardi's halftime adjustments were always terrible, but so were Staley's for the defence. Firing Lombardi addresses only one aspect. Fire Lombardi......tell Staley to relinquish DC responsibilities to the new DC....if Staley balks at that, fire him. Hire new HC, OC and DC.......
