“We brought Forrest Lamp here to be a long-time starter. But well see. Michael (Schofield) stepped up and played well last year when Forrest was hurt. It just so happened when Forrest came back and was healthy, the offensive line had a good chemistry, and they were rolling. It was hard to plug him back in I don't believe any of that quote..... Lamp has been injured, and watching....both of which contribute heavily to the biggest tag on him ' disappointment'.

I think frozen is agreeing with Eye. Just because you are a Mod now doesn't mean you should start thinking...... You love the measurement aspect far too much. I look at it, but it doesn't define the player for me. I place more weight on the fact when he got to camp he was lighting the place up. I think the injury was way more severe. My expectation is based on him recovering back to that level. nothing more. Its delusional to think he is total bust sitting in your arm chair. If he fails, then my expectation is wrong. That was why I said IF Lamp doesn't make it OG is a priority.

He has been cleared to play, and has had plenty of practice time, so going off of the initial camp performances by Lamp of "lighting the place up" I would have expected him to play.....especially with the struggles they were having at both OG positions. But no Lamp.....something is amiss, and my experience tells me the injury robbed him of his higher than others talent. He is a huge disappointment to date. Hoping that changes this next TC.

Under a rookie contract (cheap) the staff is excited and he will have every opportunity to contribute next season.

OT is a huge need, and one that will be becoming even greater next season. TT must find an OT.....draft, FA, kidnap him....but get one. I like Risner and Ford.....not too sure if either will be there @ 28th..... But it's a tradition of the CMB to say take an OT in the 3rd or 4th round. And it works well - it allows them to still have a RT that can't run block or pass block well and so they can complain about the guy throughout the season. That makes it fun for people. It seems there are no more than half a dozen that really see the importance of having a very good OT on both sides of the line.

The measurements are the backboard of the mosaic, needed but covered up by the other aspects that make up the mosaic...... Freak, WTH is he saying ? No clue. But with that new pic of his and you making Mod, I think he is freaking losing it. Genius. I know. I will always cut through the blah blah for you guys. Always.

Okay, this is going to be a little awkward <breathe>. .. . . but I tend to agree with you. I know that the Forrest Lamp that we got in the 2d round was a steal. But I'm not particularly confident that the Lamp we have now is that same Forrest Lamp, post-injury. I DO have my fingers crossed, however. AND -- if our front office doesn't go early on the OL, I'll assume that they think he's back up to snuff, or at least close to where he was . . . .

Early in the draft would be telling, but doing something in FA would be as well. The bold above has been my position all along....and I have always hoped I am wrong, but experience says no.

At this point I see a few areas that will need to be addressed. D line Liuget's replacement at Rt end and another DT to rotate in for Mebane. Inside linebacker Replacement CB to fill in for Verret when he gets his next injury OT upgrade

As far as Lamp goes for this year I am hoping for a clean slate. It should be an open competition in camp this year.
I think the real problem last year is by the time he was healthy enough to be able to play, the offensive line was pretty settled with Schofield and Tevi on the right side. I think the coaches were afraid to make a change when they were playing well and we were making a bid for the playoffs. Unless there was an injury that forced them I can't really blame them for not making the change.
