Howard played linebacker for Eastern New Mexico from 2001-2004 and was a 4-time Academic All-Lone Star Conference member. Howard earned 1st Team All-Lone Star Conference honors as a linebacker (LB) in 2003-2004 [2] while capping his career by being named a 2004 AFCA Division II All-American[3] and graduating cum laude with a degree in biology and chemistry. Howard had his jersey retired by Eastern New Mexico in 2006 and entered ENMU Hall of Honor in 2011.[4] That was a lot of words to say that he’s not an experienced LB coach. I am still waiting to be impressed. just think we will have LB'rs who can pass defend

Pass defend? Shoot, give me some thumpers!!! DL thump, LBs tackle. Pass defend, QB pressure, run blitz. Cut off chunk runs, get turnovers. 6-3, 245 lb strong safetys in this D.

Changes at DC! Hill going to Miami as a demotion... Guess if he does well with Fangio he can get a DC gig later with more control?

We’ve now turned over the entire coordinator staff in 2 years. When does Staley look in the mirror? I think this is a net positive (wasn’t impressed by Hill, Staley didn’t trust him to get more involved, Ansley is highly regarded). However, Staley has to own his D and its failures. |

10-7.....made the PO's Make the PO's again and Staley is not getting fired. As much as I’ve been critical of Staley, I have to agree. Consistency in winning and getting to the playoffs is one of the key indicators you look for in a HC. If everything else is stable (no locker room drama, etc.) then another PO appearance probably means he stays. |
