We have the potential for a devastating WR corps. Great......but the plan is to run the ball, so how is that RB room looking? How do you think its looking?

We have the potential for a devastating WR corps. Great......but the plan is to run the ball, so how is that RB room looking? Solid. Gus Edwards, JK Dobbins, Kimani Vidal, Spiller, Dotson. I really like Vidal, a 5-8, 215 brick. He catches and pass blocks well, and of course gets consistent ground yards
Edwards and Dobbins have injury history to go with a lot of talent. They passed medical. I imagine we won't just ride one RB and don't need to.
By the way, the target is a 50/50 R/P season. We'll do both. It may look like nothing but run compared to recent years but Herbert will be throwing.

Understandably, there are questions about his return to form after recent injuries. But he can literally be a stud RB if he gets back to his old self! Gus and Vidal are good complements also, and a Running Back by Committee may not be a bad thing with these players. The Charger running game will benefit from the defense's constant need to watch for Herbert to throw over the top, so there's a symbiotic advantage to running and passing we've haven't seen recently!

The team Talks OL. Putting it on the field is likely but I gotta see it. Last year's OL was so dramatically disappointing. It's hard to imagine not being better but very good or great? Maybe. We have the coaches. Harbaugh, OC G-Ro, Run CO Bischoff, OL Devlin, Hardwick and the talent looks good to great. I see a lot of OL in the workout pics with Ben Herbert. May, early June will have a lot of OTAs with position coaches. looking forward to pics and reports. IMO, we have the coaching, player personnel and depth to be really good on OL. Show us.

Spiller is this teams Craig Mager, IMHO some of you are holding on to long with wishful thinking. I think he'll either get cut or sent to the practice squad.

(sure I had to beat it into them. but i think they are all starting to see the light. my light. the light that shines the brightest. lead like the emperor, the village will follow some day. react while learning my lessons. kneel because you are forced to acknowledge)

Not sure I'd use the word "solid" as we're relying on Gus Edwards who was RB 3 or so with the Ravens and Dobbins who hasn't been able to avoid injuries. Behind them is the unproven rookie from Troy and a couple of guys who couldn't break through. So it's a lot of hopium

Mager was a reach from a tiny school that no one had heard of. Spiller was projected as a 3rd rounder from a major SEC school that was very productive on a big stage. He is also only 22 at this point, younger than many guys in this year’s draft. He may never be productive, but he definitely has a stronger pedigree than Craig Mager.

I do think some of its talent but the majority was philosophy, coaching, and conditioning. Fix all of that and our RB’s will be plenty good enough.

A vet WR, RB, and CB would make Freak happier. Need to add one to each room. Sure, I'm greedy.
Our genius new GM had a great take, paraphrasing: "With SO many WR's taken in this draft, there will be a lot of them cut from teams before the season."
This GM has tremendous insight into the NFL. You can already see it.

I agree with you there, Mager was a reach and Spiller was not. I'm mostly referring to people thinking Mager might become something he never did, it was fairly obvious early on that he wasn't worth the pick. I was a huge fan of the Spiller pick at the time, but like I said in another thread he has never even showed the same flashes that Dotson has. He has literally shown nothing to be excited about, I just don't see a productive NFL back in him.

Can you show me where they said that ? Listen, I am a Freak and I never said 50-50. The bottom 10 in the league for passing percentage was 50-56%. BUT there was only one of them that had a "passer type QB" like a Herbert. Josh Allen at Buffalo. They came in about 54% passing. Detroit and the Rams about 57% passing. We were in the 60's, and that absolutely had to change. Harbaugh style, Roman style, Roman probably wants 9% passing LOL. But we have the Herbert factor. So it's not going to be 50%. I have no idea, but I would put us about 54%-57% passing ? We absolutely had to come out of the 60's. If we get great run blocking 54ish, not as great 57ish..............

No. IMO it was implied that we would move in that direction. Precisely 50/50? Nope. Both 50 something? Yes.
I think it will be settled by circumstances. Opponent, team health etc. I see a lot of big dudes in the workout pics. OL and DL. It's going to be fun this season.
