How the hell are the Chargers supposed to evaluate the young WRs with this level of QB play? At practice. Pre-season is purely another tool not the only one. To be fair, Easton, was playing with the red shirts and wanna be depth was he not. I would expect him to look worse. Sure he hasn't impressed, but I think with the rookies etc getting mixed in with the 1's is a better indicator. Easton played a half and went 5-13 for 31 yards. He played behind 4/5 of the starting O-Line for much of the time. Stick managed one first down (by scrambling if memory is correct). Are you suggesting that this was the coaches plan and Roman screwed up the play calling? ...or the WR/RB room lacks talent? IMO, Stick did not deliver. I agree with Freak, it was an opportunity lost.

Must be a pretty damn important tool for all 32 teams to bring 90 players each to 3-4 games in August. You can't compare live games competition to shorts and dandelions. Trust me. Trust the league.

You see folks. It's not that hard. To make it easy on you, your agreeing with me isn't expected; it's COMMANDED.

Honestly, I didn't even think he did that "well". I'm not kidding either. He was atrocious out there.

The Chargers are not winning without Herbert at QB, so best to be hoping the injury update is saying cleared to play week one.

We probably shouldn't be a playoff team without Herbert but you never know with this Defense and Special Teams.

They have done absolutely nothing.... Last season was nothing special..... So why? ST's were good last season, and look to be good again. The only thing special about the ST's is Dicker...... Be bad to lose him......

O learns to not give the ball away, we win. Of course I expect Herbert to play and blow everyone away but if you want to play "What if?" I'll take playoffs at least.

Debatable, but I agree with everything else. We don't go from bottom of the barrel defense to number 1 in a season, I don't care who your coach is. Especially since we did little to improve that side of the ball... For us to have any sort of success or to even sniff the playoffs we need pre Staley Herbert. A top 10 rush offense would be icing on the cake, I think Roman needs to show something in year 1.

Less time on the field, puts teams into generally one dimension. These help.

Granted. 1st ,We weren't bottom of the barrel in personnel. 2nd, we added some quality players and depth. 3rd Ben Herbert. The players feel stronger, faster, more durable. 4th Minter and his position coaches are all head and shoulders better than DC Staley & staff.
Having the best Edge rush group in the NFL (Bosa, Mack, Tuli, Dupree +1) is both real, it's BIG and Minter has some great ideas on how to leverage that. The LBs and DBs are feasting thus far in practice and vs Seattle. Special Teams is threatening to be NFL best.
