Jachba - are you going to the parade on Monday ? I’ll be there, with my kids. Could be a one in a lifetime event, so I took the day off, and we’re gonna make the trip up. Are u allowed to cross int’l Lines? Most Countries, I’d be lucky not to get tazered at the Border. But Canada, I’ve been there way too many times to count. Their legal drinking age is 19, so that 2 year period alone, I probably spent a good 100 nights there (most at the “Canadian Ballet”)

Not unexpected. I don’t think there were really any other legit players in the sweepstakes. A few thoughts: * This is not a one sided trade. Both teams should see their benefits from this trade during their respective windows. The Pelicans are a few years out from being a legit contender, so will want the timelines of their players prime years to match up. The Lakers on the other hand have a short “win now” window to work with, as LeBron’s career winds down. * This shows that the Lakers will never be able to be kept down. Yesterday they were in the conversation as the most dysfunctional organization in professional sports, today they are in the conversation of being Championship contenders for next season. * I’m not quite sure how to feel about AD. On one hand, I can’t respect what he did, and would love to see him fail. On the other hand, I kinda respect how a guy & his agent can actually pull off what he did. * The way the draft lottery shook out, has to make everyone wonder if the thing is rigged. It really could not have set the table for this trade to happen any better. * This could end up hurting the Clippers Summer a lot, as FA’s with options may want to avoid the West now more than ever. * If there was any doubt that the Houston Rockets window was slammed shut a few weeks ago, that doubt should now be erased. * We can rule out Bradley Beal being acquired by the Lakers via trade, as they don’t have enough to trade away anymore. In the big picture it may have been a smarter move to focus on a trade for Beal this year, and then sign AD as a FA next year, but getting AD was of course the bigger piece. * Its unlikely the Lakers get a top tier FA this summer, as they only have about $27 million to work with, and 6 roster spots to fill. But who knows, maybe they can score Khris Middleton or Malcom Brogdan at a modest salary. That should make The Moekid foam at the mouth !

AD did what Kawhi did just a bit more effectively in that he got traded to where he wanted to go

Methinks that the Lakers are happy to have this guy out of their hair!

Methinks that the Lakers are happy to have this guy out of their hair! The scary thing is, the guy actually believes himself.

But you said you weren’t sure how to feel about AD forcing a trade. I’m sure u had no conflicts about Kawhi forcing a trade. Or maybe u felt nothing as u weren’t yet a fan?

If your theory about the trade hurting the Clippers' chances of acquiring a FA is correct, it would seem that the Raptors' chances of resigning Kawhi improved noticeably.

Im pretty sure Kawhi has no regrets Of course. But you said you weren’t sure how to feel about AD forcing a trade. I’m sure u had no conflicts about Kawhi forcing a trade. Or maybe u felt nothing as u weren’t yet a fan? Their reasons for forcing a trade are as comparable as night & day, and yes I had no conflict whatsoever about accepting Kawhi. I never viewed him as a selfish guy, never even thought of that as a possibility. I can understand Spurs fans feeling that way, but that’s their own biased point of view, that is severely misguided. I think a lot lot more people can see things with AD the way Pelicans fans do. But if I were AD, I mostly likely wouldn’t care in the least...

Congrats jachba !!! St. Louis, Toronto,,,,,,is it the Chargers year ?? Thanks, Freak. As for the Chargers, we all certainly hope so. Two days after the Raps winning their first NBA title and for many people it's just now starting to sink in. The celebrations downtown after the game were for the most part peaceful and the city is gearing up for the Championship parade on Monday starting at 10 a.m. This Championship was a long time coming for Raptors' fans, who endured the early years with Damon Stoudamire, the heartbreak of 2001 with Vince Carter missing the shot that could have sent the Raptors to the Eastern Conference finals and the acrimony that resulted from (or fueled, depending on your point of view) his departure, the lean years until the DeRozan-Lowry era and the disappointing playoff losses until finally breaking through this year. The last time Toronto celebrated a Championship win this big dates back to the Blue Jays 1993 World Series win and the dramatic Joe Carter homer to win it all. Ah. Enjoy it my friend. Soak it all in. If you are not able to get to the parade, check it out on tv/radio. I love these drought teams or never won teams winning. Celebrate !

If your theory about the trade hurting the Clippers' chances of acquiring a FA is correct, it would seem that the Raptors' chances of resigning Kawhi improved noticeably. The only things we know for sure, are that Kawhi has one tough situation to walk away from, and that the Clipoers have heavy interest in signing him (as should many other teams). What other teams he would actually consider going to (including the Clippers) is purely speculation. Kawhi certainly never gave any indication. Logic says the Clippers would be a good destination for him to consider, but we don’t know what he actually thinks about that, and there are also plenty of reasons why he may not want to go there.

Im sure it will be memorable for one reason or another. For the kids, if nothing else, I’m sure they’ll always remember the day we pulled them out of school to go to a parade.
