seems to me Edleman did that to everyone The question becomes, what is the strategy for trying to defend these modern passing attacks ? In my view, this involves... --pressure up front, both inside and outside. --speedy, instinctive LBs who can tackle...see Thomas Davis, mentoring Kyzir White and Jatavis Brown. --big, zone DBs, also instinctive , and also who can tackle. Any ideas Sir ?...this is a tough one. Wood, vs. the Pats, it all starts with max pressure, especially pushing the pocket. We need some beastly NT/DT pocket pushers to rush Brady, Mahomes, etc., and free up Boss & Ingram to bring the heat...

ESPN has a nice little piece of TD. Signed for leadership and what he can bro g to the field. Called the Rivers of the defense.

No QB does good work if the D is on him fast up the middle. If we can make them bring protection in, then out edge will take over. Bosa & Ingram fighting double team/chip blocks and/or playing safe to cover the run made us boring. We need some lightning in a bottle at 3T and/or MLB. Preferably both.

Last year, we loved strong safeties. We had 4 of them... and 1 hurt FS. This year, we seem to love weak-side LB's. We have 4 of them... and 1 hurt MIKE.
I suggest we get a 1-tech that can eat double teams, keep our smallish, injury prone LB's clean. Set our DE's free, too. A 1-tech that can also push the pocket... Dexter Lawrence, anyone...?

Oh, and before we forget... we have 1 SAM. One that either needs to get better in pass coverage, or needs a backup that can cover better.
1. DT Dexter Lawrence 2. FS Darnell Savage 3. MIKE/SAM Terrill Hanks 4. OT Mitch Hyatt 5. CB Corey Ballentine 6. WR Gary Jennings 7. EDGE/SAM Jamal Davis

A DT that can keep our LBs clean is critical. Unfortunately we also need Oline that can keep our QB and RBs clean. It's a toss up which line gets help first.

I figure if both an OL and a DT is there at 28 and the OL is up there in the top 5 BPA, they could go OL because D is deeper. Then again, it might be DT is just a better bet.
