Unless a Derwin James type falls to 28 one of those three would be great. This year's equivalent of a Derwin James falling to us would be Wilkins...he's a top 20 talent according to many draftniks, and even in the top 10 for some of them...

With Tyrod's scrambling talents, I'm guessing the Bolts practice some variations of the Tyrod Triple Play Goal-Line Option...fake the quick opener to Watt up the gut, roll out, fire the rock to either Mike Will or Ekkie, or run it in himself...now that will be tough to defense...

Or, maybe he could just put on his cape and fly into the endzone.

You do know Smith has that same capability don't you? They didn't use him in that way and I doubt they'll tale PR out to use Taylor in that way. Heck, I'm not even sure Tyrod can take over the backup job yet.

Our team has gone straight Tier 1 with signing Taylor. He is a true elite dual threat, I would argue top of the league, and I'm serious. I don't see them taking Rivers out during a game for special Taylor packages. The idea of a true backup is that he can come in and run what the team spent all week practicing. DON"T underestimate Taylor's arm and accuracy either. He's been a starter for a reason.

If you think he's top of the league then Geno must be nearly top of the league. I do agree that Tyrod is more accurate and I'm guessing that's what interested the Bolts in him.
At any rate, my point was they won't pull Rivers just because Taylor can run.We agree on that. Note this too - the HC still thinks Cardale Jones may be the answer.

We are ready have a superundefensibibile goal line play, the MW wide open in either corner. Can we just run that play every down?

Taylor has a 53 TD's to 20 ints and a career rating of 89.6. By comparison, Smith has 29 Td's vs 36 ints and a rating of 72.7. Not to mention that Taylor is a much better runner.

Is this the year the Bolts roll with only two QB's ? Rivers and Taylor on the active roster, with maybe a FA type on the practice squad ? Not too sure how the NFL cap rules are, but the Bolts are only out 645,000 if they cut Jones, I think.

If he stays with the Chargers again, I expect him to be a practice squader once again. I expect only two QB's on the active roster in 2019 just like 2018 if he is still eligible for it (and I believe that he still is since he wasn't active in 2018).

Taylor has 1836 yards versus Smith's 661. The difference between the two is Geno's yardage was mainly based on scrambles where the defense is playing back for the pass (i.e., 3rd and long, etc.) where the QB can pick up relatively meaningless yards. Tyrod quite often ran on designed run plays where defenses were expecting and defending for the run with not many "meaningless yards" puffing up his average. Smith has good mobility, but Taylor is a horse of a different color: a weapon with his legs who can also pass accurately. A big upgrade IMO.

I did not think Jones was still eligible for the practice squad.......and to be honest, I can't see why they would waste another year with him. Jones is never going to have starter level talent, and the Bolts should be using that slot for a QB that might develop into something.
