It would not surprise me if TT went with one of the following..... CB, WR or TE @ 28th...... Roughly a 0% chance of a WR or TE at 28. CB is improbable too. Oline or DT is the pick. If Greedy Williams or Bryon Murphy were to be there, CB would be difficult to pass on. (pun intended) Same story with D K Metcalf..... I am not saying any of these players will fall, but if they did, you take that talent every time.

DB...Every draft you take a minimum of 1 It would not surprise me if TT went with one of the following..... CB, WR or TE @ 28th...... I'd be surprised if a top 10 talent at any position falls to 28 and even more surprised if we don't take him.

The draft does crazy things, that's why I didn't say it was outright impossible. But we haven't brought back CL and Philon is gone. Our best Olinemen are on the wrong side of 30 and the others are replacement level talents. Those are our weak spots and the Chargers MO has been to take the BPA at a position of need, and what we need is beef. Our first draft pick is gonna weight 295+ or I don't moonlight as Freaks gimp every other Thursday.

Our first draft pick is gonna weight 295+ or I don't moonlight as Freaks gimp every other Thursday. I have zero doubt that they are waiting to see if CL can recover from a very serious knee injury. I can tell you from my recent experience of rupturing my quadriceps tendon in my right knee in December 2017 (finishing off a couple of knee sprains suffered in 1995 and 2000) that this injury ain't no joke. Obviously I was much younger when I suffered my triad injury (torn ACL, MCL and meniscus), but the triad injury was an easier recovery. I went through two major surgeries (January 2018 and again in June 2018 after trying to push it too hard too soon) and my knee strength is only back to about 90% and I still haven't jogged / run since the injury as I've stayed on an elliptical for cardio because I don't feel confident with it. An obvious difference with CL is that his recovery is his job, so he can totally focus on it. I saw that he was in a wheelchair on the Backstage Chargers episode when he was announced as being the Chargers' nominee for the Walter Payton Award, so at least he avoided my mistake / hardheadedness that led to my second surgery. However, Corey is 300+ pounds and 29 years old, so it's going to be tough sledding for him to recover from it well enough to be effective at the NFL level. We will probably find out sometime before training camp, and if he does sign it will be for a lot less than he has cost in the past.

Regardless, from the Chargers' point of view our interior Dline is a weakness. Same with the Oline, as it has been throughout the majority of Rivers' career and the entirety of TT's GM career. It's gonna take a boarderline miracle for the Chargers to pick something other than a lineman at 28. If they do, I think we'll be getting a great player ala DJ. That's the kind of talent it's gonna take for the Bolts to pass on a lineman.

I agree the Bolts have serious need, on both lines, and have said I believe Wilkins falls to 28th and is the pick due to being top of their board.....so TT is taking BPA, and it just happens to intersect with PON.....sorta like Derwin did. If Greedy was there.....tough call, but I think TT takes the top end talent in Greedy over Wilkins. Plenty of needs, plenty of options for TT......

It's way too early to be going all in without any outs.

Probably my biggest complaint about the board....too many on here looking for the 'gotcha' moment, creating the 'never take a stand' postings.

LOL! Duh! I deal in probabilities, or at least my estimate thereof. Future absolutes about people? They surprise me consistently on a single instance basis.

I'll take a stand, right after the Chargers are on the clock. Huevos the size of grapefruits over here.
